Most types of silicone do not smell or have any taste either.
The material also has particularly good resistance to the natural elements. It is extremely resistant to ozone, UV and cosmic radiation.
Silicone can be used in very different temperatures. They range from -60°C to 250°C. It is very hard to set alight and has excellent resistance to boiling water and steam up to 140°C.
The material also withstands chemicals like paints, aqueous solutions, weak acids, polar liquids (e.g. gasoline and oil) and non-polar liquids (polyvalent alcohols).
Another benefit is its outstanding ability to provide insulation.

These characteristic features make silicone an ideal material for manufacturing data input devices for a very wide range of applications.

Thanks to being physiologically harmless, silicone is outstandingly suitable for use in hygiene-sensitive areas.
