Cashless payments are becoming increasingly important, particularly at the present time. Our customer, PeanutPay, was looking for a solution to provide the best possible equipment for vending machines, like snack or coffee machines, in order to be able to offer its services to more potential customers. We show you a specific application below illustrating how the cashless payment system project was developed.
Customer: PeanutPay - a startup.
Type of product: module for cashless payments.
Product idea: cashless payment module to upgrade machines.
The multimedia panel not only needed to process keystrokes and display content, but also recognize particular installation configurations and emit switching signals. The complete menu navigation as well as the control and processing logics also had to be introduced.
Sector: the food industry & catering.
The challenge: an operating model was to be developed and made for series production. PeanutPay wanted to manufacture and partially assemble its product. The product had to meet all the requirements in terms of legal stipulations, standards and functional safety.
Project building blocks: consultancy work and manufacturing.
Customer contact: the initial contact was made at the Innovation Days in Chemnitz in 2022.
Fact finding: the current status of the module developed by PeanutPay was analyzed during a further meeting.
Initial successes: the reliability of the product was optimized and the necessary tests were successfully passed. The project was ready for the initial production of a prototype. The first small series production run took place.
Setbacks: the insertion machine constructed by PeanutPay quickly proved inadequate during series production. As a result, the production of this module was handed over to GETT too.
PeanutPay’s cashless payment system is now in service at more than 50 sites and more than 2,200 customers have made use of it.
