A Day of Challenges and Team Spirit – What We Can Learn from Our Inventory at GNA

Today was an exciting day at GETT.AMERICA, highlighting the importance of teamwork and the need to remain flexible in unexpected situations. As always, the last day of our financial year was dedicated to the annual inventory count. You might think an inventory check is boring? Not with us!

Everything initially went according to plan: lists were checked, stock levels were counted, and processes were reviewed for efficiency. Our goal was to ensure everything runs smoothly and to provide our customers with the best possible quality. But then, an unexpected twist occurred – in the form of a giant spider in the middle of our kitchen!

Just like in business, obstacles can sometimes appear out of nowhere and throw you off course. But what truly matters is how you respond to them. In our case, it was Audrey who impressed us all. Fearlessly, she took charge of the situation and handled the problem quickly and effectively. This perfectly illustrates what makes us stand out at GETT.AMERICA: embracing challenges, finding solutions, and strengthening the team in the process.

After this small but unexpected interruption, we carried on with renewed energy. Our company ordered a well-deserved lunch for the whole team, giving us the boost we needed to get through the rest of the day. Gestures like these not only increase motivation but also ensure everyone is refocused and enjoying the task at hand. In the end, we successfully completed the inventory and closed our financial year with a smile.

You might be wondering what this little anecdote means for you, especially if you're thinking about establishing your business in the USA or relocating your production there. Here are three lessons that might help:

  • Flexibility and Problem-Solving Skills: The US market often brings new challenges – from cultural differences to new legal regulations. Just like our “spider situation,” it’s crucial to act quickly and effectively without losing your head.
  • Teamwork and Cohesion: The success of your business in the US heavily relies on your team. Only when everyone pulls together can you achieve long-term success. The camaraderie we experienced during our inventory is key to success in any field.
  • Efficiency through Recognition and Breaks: Small gestures, like a shared lunch, strengthen the team and boost productivity. In the US, where fast action is often the key to success, it’s important not to overlook the morale of your team.
